I was with my fiancée and our two daughters in Dun Laoghaire. We were just about to get into the car when I saw the moon sitting over the water, its reflection almost perfectly centered across the sea. I ran back down, climbed onto the rocks, and moved away from the artificial light to hold onto the calm of the moment.

It was peaceful, quiet, and completely unplanned. The blue winter light, the still sea, the moon’s path, and the timing all came together for a few minutes and then passed.
